My newest dilemma

ok...so here is the newest dillema...shocking really ;)

Mom wants me to pick something for Christmas-so decided I'd go for the ipod nano in red. Jumping into the technology world for both the sake of fitness (the music at the gym sucks) and to do a bit of good (Fighting AIDS in Africa). All sounds great. I've picked the perfect thing for her to come over with, its lightweight so she won't have any hassles with carry heavy bags at the airport etc....

So....are you on the edge of your seat wondering about my dillema? sitting??? ok...it comes with a free engraving....what to put??? should it be a famous quote? a word that says millions? something funny? related to music? to life? to the apple ipod??????????? so manyyyyyyyy questions....I have been searching for over a week and still no closer (most quotes are tooooo long for the nano)....and I know no-one really sees it..but I will know it is there and what it says...

This is why I still havn't managed to get a tatoo....what can symbolise you for all eternity...My Mom has tried to remind me it is only an ipod ;)

homosexual marriage in NJ

Oh...Lions and Tigers and Gays..OH MY!!!

Let's hope that NJ sends the right message...people are people...and whoever is lucky enough to find love should be able to share it...marriage is a legal contract not a religious one....

hoping NJ doesn't take the civil union road

dizzy :O

I spent the last week in the hospital....
dizzy...pain in chest...tingly feeling in head...

World Cup Fever continued...

WOW...That one hurt...hit me even harder the next day....

Our loss to Italy was a bit tainted because of the loss of Frings less than 24hours before the game....and yes some yellow cards that were not handed out...etc....rumours have started concerning payoffs etc....

But none of that changes the facts....:(

However...the positive thing is that we are still rallying together...that the fans havn't given up on their team or their flag waving....and we will still be cheering on Saturday for them.....

WORLD CUP FEVER

World Cup Fever has truly hit Germany...and I am glad.

People all over Germany are redefining what it means to be German...and what the flag represents.

After arriving here oh so many years ago I was shocked to discover the shame that many young people had concerning their nation...most of which had taken place before they were born. The flag became synonomous with Nazis and no longer Germans....people were afraid to be proud...afraid to wave their flag or wear their colors....

A newer and wiser Germany...remembers the past...but embraces a future that they can be
proud of.

Giving or not...

Just was reading something on the hobo traveller and got me thinkin bout my "days on the road"

Normally I had a "rule" not to give to beggers on the street ...I didnt want them to lose pride...I had no problem sharing my sandwich...or what ever I had but often it would be rejected...but when shared it was often fun...

But one day I was visiting a tiny village in Nepal with two friends from Italy...later I was to learn that the one had needed to beg when living in Spain...in order to make it home to Italy after losing his job...

ok...SO this place makes the BEST Yogurt in the World...sweet creamy and cold like a dessert...and there are no autos allowed...before leaving we stopped to have a yogurt...children started dancing around and speaking both in English and Italian...so the guys offered them some yogurt as well...THEY were DELIGHTED!!! Singing and dancing....as we left one little boy came by begging...we all said sorry..then he said he wanted it to buy yoghurt...still we said no...he followed us all the way....where we would wait for our return bus...We decided to have a samosa in a "restaurant" there...so naturally we invited the boy...the owner said he couldnt come in. But the Italians said he was their friend...this little boy proceeded in like a little prince...went and washed his hands....sat super straight and was suprised when the guys bought him not one but TWO samosas try as he might this small boy was unable to finish ....the boys told him it was fine....what wonder that for this moment he felt like a king...hoping that he was able to hole onto that feeling....remember it...and create this in his life someday...

sorry for the lack of grammer ;)
and no...these are not the same kids...but other kids from Nepal...:)

Love should be legal

For the life of me, I cannot understand all the fuss.
What should it matter who anyone loves...we are talking consenting adults. And for you right wing facists...no I dont mean to include animals or children into this equation.

When you agree that we have a seperation of church and state than it takes God out of this equation. And by removing religion, the reason for declaring homosexual marriage as atrocious holds no ground.

Just 40 years ago it was illegal for blacks and whites to marry....the new scapegoat being gays....for if we continue to criticize those on the outside we must never look inside.

Searching

The inevitable quest for truth...for knowledge...understanding

I wonder if our epitath in HS has anything to do with the paths our lives take???

Strange question?? Perhaps...;)
but look at me and my epitath:

I said something like: Many people go searching from one thing to another until they discover that what they are searching for is within themselves and sharing that true self with the ones they love.

And here I've spent the last (nearly 10 years) on the road...searching? perhaps....all the while longing to go home
